It is time to celebrate the end of May and the beginning of June. We are closing out a crazy month of May, which included ANOTHER move, our first Colorado visitors and lots of racing. Luckily, our move was the easiest one we've ever had. We put up with horrible, noisy neighbors in our apartment complex for seven months, and couldn't take any more. With our early morning training schedules and work schedules, it was just not practical for us to be listening to them party into the small hours of the night. So we worked out a deal with the apartment complex, and moved down the hall to a better unit. Not only do we have quieter neighbors now, but we have a ton more light through the big windows and an extra room for the hubbie's work space. In the end, it all worked out for the best. And purchasing a couple of dollies to roll everything just four doors down was such a great idea. We moved in three days, and pretty much had everything in its place within a week!
...Which was good because after that week, my parents came out for their first visit to Colorado! We had empty walls and picture frames stacked all over the place, but the guest room had clean sheets and the guest bathroom had hot water. So it was a win, in my book. (I'll post more about their visit later because we had a little mini vacation that deserves its own set of pictures).
Needless to say, we've decided to put another house hunt on hold. There was a great deal of anxiety going around when it came to the idea of purchasing a home again, so we decided to listen to our instincts. We are going to take a couple of years to save up some money, and we'll look again when we're more ready.
In the mean time, we are going to enjoy the month of June! We have a birthday to celebrate right off the bat, and we each have a race coming up this weekend. I'm sure we'll keep ourselves busy by working on making the new apartment feel more like home. We need to hang some pictures and decorate a bit, so that will be fun (for me). HA. Other than that, I will continue counting down until my visit to meet my nephew in July!!
