Hello!
My name is Rachel Erickson, and I am looking to become your newest Santa Cruz Real Estate Agent, here in California. As someone who is a life-long learner, I’ve decided to pivot my career path in 2022 and take on this new adventure of mastering the art of buying and selling homes. Over the last 15 years of my marriage, my husband and I have moved 12 different times, across 4 different states. I’ll be rekindling fond memories of our moving adventures through my blog. If you’re interested in following me as I go back through all of our moves and all that we learned over the years, follow me on my new Instagram account @great_places_properties. We’ll also be starting a YouTube Channel soon and launching more ways to find me and work with me as we grow.
If there’s one major learning I’ve taken with me most, it’s that researching the location you’re moving to is too often overlooked. We’ve moved to cities and towns that were perfect matches for our vibe, but we’ve honestly moved to more places that just weren’t for us. A little information on the area’s restaurants, activities and general feeling would have gone a long way in those instances.
With that in mind, Great Places Properties will soon be starting to host regular events to review and feature local spots around the Santa Cruz area. The “Let’s Eat and Play” (L.E.A.P.) program was started by a good friend of mine, Lauren Hope in Colorado Springs just last year. The knowledge and information she’s been able to share with her clients and community by getting out into the city every month is immeasurable. We will be learning from her and bringing her genius idea over here to the West Coast so that we can offer unparalleled service to our current neighbors and to those who hope to make Santa Cruz their home. If you’re interested in signing up for LEAP Newsletters and upcoming events once we have them started, you can sign up on my website.
Last but not least, I am anxiously awaiting the coming of my exam this Thursday, October 13, 2022. I’m putting it all out there for you to follow along in the journey with me. There’s of course a chance that I don’t pass the exam on my first try, but after taking the Chamberlin Real Estate Exam Crash Course yesterday, I’m feeling better about passing than ever before! Please help to send all of the luck my way as I continue with practice tests this week and head to the Oakland testing center Thursday morning.
More to come next week, and hopefully some good news of my newly acquired license can be shared! I’m so excited to be out in the neighborhoods of Santa Cruz, helping people make the next big step in their life, whether that be buying or selling their home. Stay in touch and maybe we’ll get a chance to meet at a future LEAP meet-up or to start a project together. I can’t wait!!
